Bonnie sighed, arranging some freshly baked cookies on a cake plate. She looked around the little pub/restaurant attached to her bed and breakfast, wishing it wasn’t devoid of customers. She liked running the place, but sometimes she thought maybe she’d picked a place that was a little TOO idyllic. It was a bit out of the way, and it seemed that most travelers these days wanted to be closer to the hustle and bustle. She had a few regulars that came in for dinners and drinks but for the most part it was slow.

She looked out the tinted window, surprised to see a car pulling into the parking lot. She figured it was someone lost and looking for direction. The man let himself into the pub, smiling as he took in the surroundings. “Afternoon,” he greeted looking a bit road weary as he took a seat at the counter. Continue the story
